Similar to the other two electoral counters, RCP calls it 264-237 in favor of Bush, with 36 undecided. Yes, I know that only adds up to 537. The other vote is Maine's second congressional district - which is also undecided at the minute. Maine does not a have a winner-take-all system. This predictor calls Florida for Bush, but places Ohio in the undecided camp (where it definitely seems to belong - Ohio could be the Florida of this election, and I expect that both camps are busy getting out the vote there).

Friday Box Office - Shark Tale holds on to the top spot for the third week in a row, mainly because of its presence on a gazillion screens. Team America and Shall We Dance open so-so, but, amazingly, the tepid Shall We Dance was the week's champ in revenues per screen!

Oh, that silver-tongued Dubya!! Talk about a Freudian slip. President Bush tells a crowd: "'I made it very plain. We will not have an all-volunteer army.'" Does it count as the truth if you tell it accidentally?

Electoral Vote Predictor 2004 is now calling it 257-243 Bush, with 38 undecided, which means neither candidate is holding the 270 needed to elect. They made two big changes today, both in Kerry's favor: (1) Florida has been moved out of the Bush column and into "tied". (2) New Jersey has been moved from "tied" to Kerry's column.

Assigning every state to one camp or another, CNN calls it 277 for Bush, 261 for Kerry (270 needed to win), although they are calling New Hampshire and Ohio for Kerry. (The other source above calls New Hampshire undecided, and Ohio for Bush) No Republican has ever won the White House without winning Ohio.

"Parker and Stone also completed scenes with marionettes of President George W. Bush and Democratic nominee John Kerry, but the scenes were left on the cutting room floor in a rare bout of cautiousness by the creators, who decided not to be so overtly political with the film's release coming so close to Election Day"

A Finnish broadcasting group has unearthed a unique 1942 recording capturing Adolf Hitler's private thoughts. Hitler did not realize he was being recorded. There were two key findings: (1) He felt that he would have defeated England if he could have invaded France in 1939 as originally planned. (2) He really pressured Goebbels to get him tickets for Cher's farewell tour, which at that time had barely begun.
