Weekend Box Office Results for October 6–8, 2006
  • A good opening for Scorsese, and immaculate reviews to match. Could this finally be his year for the gold?
  • The other two new films also exceeded expectations, lifting the weekend to a solid increase over last year, with the Top Twelve clearing $100m for the first time in about two months.
  • Faced with head-on competition from Employee of the Month for the same audience, School for Scoundrels plummeted 60% in its second week.
