Even the Dutch have some boundaries!
Some weeks ago, Rotterdam-based columnist Hugo Borst was watching the daily news on family channel RTL with his 11-year-old son while having dinner. At 6:45 p.m. -- with no warning -- father and son were witness to excerpts from a home video showing the goalkeeper of a Dutch professional soccer team being introduced in embarrassingly intimate terms to a sex toy by a girlfriend.

THE WHO'S NEW ROCK OPERA: "BUSHY" - FEATURING "PINHEAD LIZARD"

He stands like a statue
Part of the Neo-Con machine
Constitution in the dumper
Likes big oil, not green or clean
Plays by faith-based intuition
The Mid-East countries fall
That deaf, dumb and blind kid
Sure is a mean goofball

Today's Comedy Audiences Just Don't Get Me - by Aristophanes

Even my best gags get little more than a blank look these days. It's like the average audience member never heard a friggin' parabasis before in their life.

Philip Morris: 'Please Talk To Your Cooler Children About Cigarettes'
According to Philip Morris' new print-ad campaign running in Maxim and Sports Illustrated, it is unnecessary for parents to discuss the dangers of cigarettes with lame children who like board games, science, and their parents.

Very naughty flowers.
I suppose these are Photoshop jobs, but a couple of them are subtle enough that you could frame 'n' hang 'em and few people would ever catch on.

Shrunken Coins
My most powerful shot yet - half dollar at 7.7kJ. The coin shrunk more evenly than the first one i tried, but is still far from perfect. It was this shot that tore one of the screws out of the wooden base and dented the 1/4 inch steel sides of my enclosure.

"These imponderables are here to encourage my students to think creatively and identify deep questions"
Imagine you are an alien from a totally different world - so different that even the building blocks of life are completely different on your planet. Now say that you land on planet Earth. You find three huge sheets of paper (i) one containing English text (ii) one listing a DNA sequence and (iii) one listing a computer program. You have no idea which is which, but you recognize you are looking at ordered bits of information - three very strange and different languages. The question is, using statistical principles and principles from information theory can you (the alien) detect any fundamental differences between the three sheets of paper so that you can distinguish between a human language, a machine language and a biological coding language? Or is it in fact impossible to distinguish them in principle?

Pandora Internet Radio - Find New Music, Listen to Free Web Radio
  • Submitter wrote: "I found this site by accident over the weekend. It's really cool. Think of a song or a band and plug it in, it creates a play list for you then finds more songs like it. It's some kind of a web project to archive music for the masses, but it's lot more convenient than any of the others I've found. It's free with advertising or about $30 a year without."

The Ten Most Dangerous Toys of 2006!
Aside from the multiple obvious choking hazards, this toy has the potential to turn your child into some kind of flower-loving hippie later in life, which I think is far more dangerous than choking on a little plastic ball.

"Gweneth Paltrow hates America", from What Would Tyler Durden Do
My point is Gwen is insane and hilariously ill-informed. She has no formal education, unless you count making ashtrays in pottery class or the Smiling Bear sticker she earned in Cultural Understanding. So when people like this want to lecture you on American history or political science, just keep in mind that they’re comparing it to a utopia where Unicorns fly over gumdrop rainbows so a centaur can brush their hair. Just like the village they saw while chasing shrooms with X that time in their Gulfstream.

While I agree with what he said, I don't think one should disparage another's intellectual achievements unless one can spell her name right! Paltrow is no Einstein, but she can spell "Gwyneth."

Beyond the "don't know" category, eight men and women are mentioned spontaneously as desired candidates by 2% or more of Americans as their choice for president in 2008. Two candidates top the list -- New York Sen. Hillary Clinton with 15% of spontaneous mentions and Arizona Sen. John McCain with 11%.

JENNIFER LOPEZ DOES CRACK
The jeans have never been made which can contain that force of nature she carries behind her. The captions say she is going commando, but I think she's probably wearing a thong. Either way, there are several acres of back forty to plow.
