Looking back at the U.S. Presidents IQ hoax - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Linky and Dinky's famous chart may be the most successful internet hoax in history. It was reprinted as factual by legitimate print sources (notably The Guardian), and even generated a brief thread in Doonesbury, whose creator apparently assumed it to be accurate. For the record, very few Presidential IQs are known for a fact.

Richard Nixon was part of the Terman Longtitudinal Study of gifted children in California, so his IQ was definitely high, but no precise measurement has been made public.

JFK's is known. He was tested when he applied for Choate and he scored 119.

President Bush scored 1206 on his SAT exams pre-1974, when the test correlated very closely to IQ and was even admissible for MENSA admission. His score translates to an IQ of approximately 129. Of course, most people would not assume President Bush to be as smart as or smarter than the ever witty and verbally facile JFK, and the Linky-Dinky hoax was successful because it was based on those assumptions.

"Following his State of the Union address, President Bush's approval rating hits a new low"
He's heading into historical territory - Carter Country, as it were. Only four US Presidents have ever had approval ratings in the 20s

Truman 23%

Nixon 24%

Carter 28%

Bush's dad 29%

The current President holds the record for the highest approval rating of all time (90%). Can he also set the opposite record? Harry Truman held both records for about forty years, with 87/23, until Bush Sr. beat the all-time high in the Gulf War

This has to be the world's best never-filmed movie location.
If you have a post-Apocalyptic script, this is your dream set

Follow-up. One reader wrote in to say "Regarding Gunkanjima Island: The movie Midori Naki Shima (The Greenless Island, 1949) was shot there. Not that it matters, it's still pretty amazing."

The Eliza Dushku "Nobel Son" Strip Tease Scene (below) is NOT a double
The film's director, Randall Miller, was asked in a recent interview: "Some of the scenes in the recent trailer have caused quite a stir amongst Eliza's fans. Can you confirm that it was Eliza in those scenes and not a double, as some people have claimed?" His response was, "No, it is her. She plays a character who is very open both emotionally and sexually."

Eva Green Refused To Strip For Casino Royale
When my daughter and niece came out of Casino Royale, their first comments were "You mean they couldn't find anybody better to do the role of Vesper? She's not that good looking, and she's not an especially good actress."

"Yes, maybe so," I thought, without saying it, "but did you see that body?"

All of which brings us to this - if she's not going to get naked, why would you hire Eva Green in the first place? Her one and only true asset is that magnificent body. I wonder how long it will take her to realize that.

MovieJuice writes a humorous review of Smokin' Aces
"Yes, the makers of Smokin’ Aces are smoking something, but it sure ain’t aces. Ever have one of those friends who thinks he’s amazingly cool, but nobody else does? Well, give him three acts and a soundtrack and you have Smokin' Aces. This mess couldn’t be more pretentious if it was smoking a hookah and reading Camus outside a North Beach coffeehouse. Any time you hear a movie use quaint mob-talk like "clip," "pinch," and "snitch," it’s time to button up a cardigan and pop a Perry Como LP on the record player. Jeremy Piven is Vegas showman Buddy Aces Israel, and if the phrase "Vegas showman Buddy 'Aces' Israel" turns you off, it's all downhill from there."
