Weekend Box Office Results for February 9-11, 2007
Given the quality of the releases it was no surprise that the weekend showed another double-digit decline from last year, the fourth in a row.

As bad as that sounds, the weekend was much better than expected! Nine of the top ten films did better than predicted, and some did much better. Perhaps the cold weather helped. Eddie Murphy's Norbit had an excellent opening weekend - more than $33 million, and Pan's Labyrinth is in the process of becoming a minor hit. Night at the Museum is in the process of becoming an institution. It's still in the top five, and barely declined this week.

The only disappointment on the list is Hannibal Rising, which moviegoers greeted with the same indifference that the critics had shown.

In terms of reviews, the top wide release of 2007 is Smokin' Aces at 27%. Start polishing up those 2008 Oscars!

I haven't studied any of his policies, but the O man is certainly a very eloquent guy. Reminds me some of his fellow Harvard grad, JFK.

The forecast for Upstate N.Y. - beach weather
Assuming, of course, that you are a polar bear. If you're human, expect ANOTHER two to three feet of snow today and tomorrow on top of the 9-10 feet you already have sitting there.

"Batman has been cruising the streets of South Florida, but he's not looking for the Joker. He's trying to sell the Batmobile."
He must need some more bread to maintain his level of crime-fighting. Couldn't he just take out a second mortgage on Stately Wayne Manor?
