All charges dropped in Duke lacrosse incident
The attorney general of N.C. virtually admitted prosecutorial misconduct: "We believe that these cases were the result of a tragic rush to accuse and a failure to verify serious allegations. Based on the significant inconsistencies between the evidence and the various accounts given by the accusing witness, we believe these three individuals are innocent of these charges."

Man, they sure talk baseball different in Japan. Ichiro went on to mention that he hoped to honor his ancestors by banishing Dice-K to the Inn of the Seventh Regret, where the Winds of Shame would howl forever in his ears. Then after the game they'd watch some octopus porn together.

Could a Google Search Have Helped Prevent the War in Iraq?
The author makes a good point. Within a day after that uranium letter was made public, many people (including me) were pointing out why it was an obvious forgery. It was a simple matter of fact-checking, because the forger did no research at all. The official who supposedly signed it in 2000, for example, had left that office in 1989. It is hard for me to understand why nobody in the federal government, even the best CIA analysts, subjected the letter to the same scrutiny as the curious bloggers on the internet, or the Italian reporter mentioned in the story.

But that letter had no impact on history. Even if that letter had been proven to be a forgery, the Iraqi invasion still have occurred. The decision to invade was a fait accompli.

Stout expectations for Larry King's successor
No matter whom they choose, he will have to ask better questions than Larry. Last time I watched, Larry asked somebody what the mood was like at a funeral. All joking aside, I think Keith Olbermann would make a great replacement for Larry King if he could keep his ego in check, but that is a VERY big "if."

Rowan would like to do another season of Blackadder
This is a good idea for two reasons (1) Blackadder is a great series (2) Every minute he spends on Blackadder is a minute when he can't do Mr Bean.

Unfortunately, one of Rowan's best Blackadder co-stars is now kicking ass as Dr. House, and will find it difficult to do both shows.

Texas legislation would mandate Bible course elective in schools
"Texas legislators are moving full speed ahead with a bill mandating elective Bible classes in the state's public high schools that appears crafted to facilitate use of a fundamentalist Protestant curriculum. Jewish groups have opposed that sectarian curriculum, but they were unable to testify at a hearing scheduled during Passover."

If the course covers the entire Bible, can Jews quit after the first semester?
